You're Still Moving Forward

A reminder that healing often looks like circles, not ladders.

Hey, my friend,

When people talk about healing, it is often described as a straight path that moves steadily forward. If only it were that simple.

The reality is that healing from trauma does not follow a straight line.

It moves in circles, loops, and turns that can feel confusing until you realize that this is how recovery often works.

There may be mornings when you feel steady and full of hope, followed by afternoons when old feelings return and leave you questioning your progress.

I know this back and forth can be discouraging, but it is important to remember that stumbling does not erase the steps you have already taken.

Even when you return to familiar struggles, you are not standing in the same place you once were, my friend.

Because this time you carry with you more awareness, more understanding, and more strength than before.

To simplify, you can see healing from trauma as a dance. A dancer does not always move forward in a straight line.

They turn, they repeat movements, and sometimes they go back in order to move with more confidence the next time.

Your healing from past trauma moves in a similar way.

The repetition does not mean you are stuck. It means you are learning, practicing, and building a rhythm that belongs to you.

So if today feels messy or slow, I hope you can see it as part of the larger dance of your healing.

You are not falling behind or still broken, but in motion, and that motion itself is progress, my friend.

I hope you’ll keep that in mind.

That is it for today, and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Take care,
