Why Kindness Feels So Hard Sometimes?
A Kindness Day note that may speak to you.
Hey, my friend,
Sometimes someone says something nice to you, and instead of feeling happy, you feel a little pressure inside.
You might wonder why they were so kind or what you should say back.
It can feel strange when your heart wants to accept the warmth, but your mind gets caught in worry.
You are not alone in this.
Many people feel unsure when kindness comes toward them because they are not used to receiving it.
Maybe you grew up thinking you must always be strong or helpful, so when someone cares about you, you do not know where to place that feeling.
Or you worry that you will say the wrong thing or that you do not deserve their kind words.
These thoughts can make you feel guilty even though you did nothing wrong.
My friend, I want to remind you that kindness is not a test or trap.
It is simply someone showing you that you matter and you do not have to earn it or need perfect words to accept it.
When someone cares about you, it is because they truly want to, not because they expect something back.
So, whenever someone shows kindness to you, instead of searching for the perfect reply, just say thank you. Let the thanks be simple and honest.
You may feel a little shy at first, but with time, your heart will learn that it is safe to receive care.
And since today is kindness day, it might be a good time to practice receiving or giving one kind word without overthinking it.
