The Feeling That Comes Back
A soft conversation for your heart.
Hey, my friend,
Have you ever had a day where everything looks fine on the outside, but inside, there is this little sore spot you do not talk about?
You go through your day, do what you need to do, you even laugh at a joke or two, and it seems like things should be normal.
But then your heart goes, “Oh, I still feel that.”
And it catches you off guard a bit.
It can feel like an inside bruise that no one else can see, hence they think you are okay.
And you do seem okay from the outside.
But there is something in you that got hit a little too hard, and it takes time to stop hurting.
My friend, time here doesn’t just mean time on the clock or dates, months, and years passing by on the calendar.
It refers to a period when your heart gets to heal, relax, and trust again.
And maybe you do not talk about it, because who are you supposed to explain it to?
It is not like you can point to your chest and say, “Look, right here, this part still hurts.”
So you carry it and keep going alone.
And sometimes you forget about it, but then sometimes it comes back out of nowhere like, “Hey, remember me.”
Then your heart goes, “Wow, I really thought I was past that.”
So, if you’ve been feeling that way lately, I want to remind you that you’re not doing anything wrong.
Your heart was hurt in a deep way, and it needs a kind space to settle again.
You do not have to rush yourself or force yourself to be over it.
Because healing does not work on a timer. It works when your heart feels safe again.
You are doing the best you can while holding something that is not always easy to speak about.
That is not a weakness but a strength that no one sees, but you carry every day.
I hope you’ll keep that in mind, my friend.
That is it for today, and see you tommorrow.
Take care,
Prasad Mairale
