Kindness, Served Hot

What one 🍕 pizza shop in Italy teaches us all.

Hey, my friend,

Today’s story comes from Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza.

In 2020, when the pandemic hit hard and many people lost their jobs, a kind pizza shop owner named Enzo Coccia did something beautiful.

He put a small sign in his window that said, “If you’re hungry and can’t afford to pay, take a slice. It’s already been paid for.”

It was part of an old Italian tradition called “caffè sospeso,” where people pay in advance for someone else’s coffee.

Enzo brought that same idea to pizza, and customers started joining in, paying for extra slices for strangers.

Also, people left kind notes, like “Stay strong” or “We’re with you,” and Enzo hung them all on his wall.

And, soon, that pizza shop became a place full of hope and love, all from a simple act.

Sounds like something our world should become, too, no, my friend?

I know it seems impossible, but why not each of us take a step towards it?

So here’s a little takeaway for you:

If you’re buying a snack or groceries this week, please think about someone you know who also needs it but can’t buy it.

And, if God has blessed you with enough, please consider sharing it with them as per your capability.

I’m sure it will make them feel good, and you as well.

That is it for today. See you tomorrow, my friend.
