I Only Received 40 Likes ☹

Yesterday, my roommate posted a photo on Instagram, he was confident that he would receive many likes, as he is always used to receiving.

But you know the magic of algorithms, sometimes it is in your favor, and sometimes it acts like your crush who keeps ignoring you.

This time, the algorithm acted like his crush and ignored his post. As a result, he only received 40 likes.

He got a little upset about it.

I understood his feelings as I also feel the same way when fewer people open my email. 😅

But later, when I sat alone, I realized that it was not just 40 likes, but it was FORTY PEOPLE.

Forty people who paused, noticed and appreciated what he shared.

Now imagine standing in a room and forty people compliment you or your work.

That’s not “a few,” my friend. That’s a crowd.

If we think about it this way, we realise it is crazy how social media has brainwashed us into thinking that anything less than thousands of likes isn’t valuable.

But the real truth is, connection isn’t measured in numbers. It is felt in moments.

So, even if a few people smile and feel from what you share, then that is enough, my friend.

I’ll also keep this in mind while trying to grow this newsletter.
