Having a Bad Day?
Here's something that will help you.💛
Hey, my friend,
Have you ever had one of those days when nothing feels good?
You spill your drink, you forget something important, and then someone says something that hurts your feelings.
And suddenly, it feels like the whole day is going wrong.
That happens to all of us.
And when it does, our minds can get stuck in a loop.
Plus, we start saying these things to ourselves;
“I can’t do anything right.” “Everything’s going wrong.” “Why is this always happening to me?
It’s like a heavy cloud that follows you around.
And, it becomes much harder to get out of that cloud as more bad things happen.
But there’s a small, simple way to get out of that mental chaos and shift how we think, even on bad days.
It’s called “Catch it, Change it.”
Let me explain it to you, my friend,
Step 1: Catch the Thought ☁️
First, notice the thought that’s making you feel bad.
For example:
“I messed everything up.” “I’m so behind.” “Nothing ever works out for me.”
Just stop for a second and catch it. Imagine you’re holding it in your hands, not to fight that thought but to observe and understand it.
Step 2: Change the Thought
Now ask yourself:
“Is this 100% true?”
While asking this, doubt might try to get into your mind, but don’t let it, as none of us is perfect.
Then think about this:
“What’s something more kind or helpful I can say to myself?”
For example:
Instead of “I messed everything up,” you could say:
🟡 “I made a mistake, but I’m still learning.”
🟡 “This moment is hard, but the whole day isn’t ruined.”
🟡 “I’ve gotten through tough things before. I can do it again.”
Remember, saying these things to yourself doesn’t mean pretending everything’s perfect.
It just means talking to yourself with kindness, the way you would talk to a friend when they’re having a bad day and need you to uplift their mood.
So, please try this whenever a bad day shows up or if you’re feeling down in general. I’m sure it will make you feel good and get through the day.
A Gentle Reminder For You, my friend
Your brain is not your enemy. It’s just trying to protect you,
But sometimes it holds onto fear, or worry, or old stories that aren’t true anymore.
Hence, you don’t have to believe every thought you think. Instead, you can choose which ones you keep.
And, you can practice being a little more kind to yourself.
You will, right, my friend?
Please feel free to let me know by replying to this email. See you tomorrow.
Take care,
