A Tale of Kindess

Something that happened to me.

Hey, my friend,

Today’s story is about an incident that happened to me around Christmas time.

I was coming back from church after finishing a skit voice-over recording.

It was around 11:30 pm, and I was already feeling hungry after wrapping everything up.

On the way, there is a new biryani place I had visited once before, and I remembered enjoying the food there.

I enjoyed it so much that I told the owner that his biryani tasted really good.

And I remember him saying that your compliment gave me hope to continue.

All in all it was really nice experience.

So I decided to go there and see if I could get something quickly.

When I reached the shop, I asked him how long he would be open.

He said he would close in five to ten minutes, so I thought it would be better to take the food to go and placed my order.

He packed the biryani and handed it to me.

I took out my phone to make the payment, and saw that the phone’s battery had already died.

I reached into my pockets to look for my wallet and realized it was left in the pockets of the other pants I wore in the morning.

He noticed that something was wrong and asked me about it.

I told him honestly that my phone had died and I was not carrying any cash.

I was expecting him to ask me to come back later or cancel the order.

Instead, he simply said that I could pay the next day and that it was not an issue.

I did not know him personally, and he did not know me either. I had only been to his shop once before.

The only thing between us was that one time I had appreciated his food and spoken kindly to him.

Still, he trusted me without asking any questions. I felt hesitant about taking the biryani like that, but he insisted, so I accepted it.

As soon as I got home, I charged my phone, turned it on, and made the payment.

I had his phone number from his visiting card, which made it easy to send the money.

I am sharing this little incident with you because things like this still happen around us.

People still choose to trust, and people still choose to do the right thing without making a big deal out of it.

Kindness hasn’t lost, it is still there, my friend.

If you show a little bit, people do reciprocate. The world hasn’t turned bitter, and it will never will.

So, today, if you get a chance, be kind and honest in a simple situation, and who knows that kindness might get its way back to you when you need it the most.

Praying for you and wishing you a wonderful and blessed day ahead.

That is it for today, and see you tomorrow, my friend.

Take care,
Prasad Mairale
