A Farm, a Drought, and a Whole Lot of Hope

One woman’s story of compassion and community impact

Hey, my friend,

Today, I want to tell you about someone really inspiring, named Samantha Starcevich.

Samantha is a farmer from a small town called Salmon Gums in Australia, and she knows what it is like to go through very hard times.

Between 2008 and 2012, her family faced a terrible drought that made it almost impossible to keep their farm running.

It was a really tough time, but instead of giving up, Samantha chose to use her experience to help others who were going through similar struggles.

In 2014, she and her friend Anne Bell started a charity called Farmers Across Borders.

The charity’s goal was to send hay to communities that were struggling with drought so that their animals would have food and families could keep going.

At first, they only had a few trucks, but Samantha’s care and determination helped the charity grow.

By 2019, they had delivered 3,000 tonnes of hay to New South Wales, and more recently, they organized their largest effort yet, sending 86 trucks with 6,000 bales to South Australia.

Every delivery of hay carried hope, support, and encouragement to farmers who really needed it.

Now, Samantha does more than just run the charity.

She also serves on her local council and takes part in leadership programs that help improve life for people in rural communities.

Her life shows us that when someone faces challenges and chooses to help others, they can make a real difference.

She teaches us that working together and caring for others can create communities where everyone feels supported.

Now, my friend, I want you to think about one way you can help someone else.

Maybe you can share something you have, offer your support, or simply send a kind word to someone who needs it.

When you do something for another person, you help make the world a better place, just like Samantha has done for so many people.

Wishing you a wonderful, blessed, and peaceful day ahead, my friend.

That is it for today, and see you tomorrow.

Take care,
Prasad Mairale
